Amazon Business is expanding its service to include same-day delivery of fresh groceries for its business customers. This new offering is now available in more than 2,300 cities and towns across the United States. Businesses can now procure perishable items such as produce, dairy, baked goods, and frozen foods alongside their usual office supplies and essentials, all within a single order. This move addresses a significant customer request for a streamlined procurement process for workplace needs.
According to Amazon News, the selection includes national and local brands, offering organic and natural options. This integration aims to simplify restocking for breakrooms, office events, or client meetings.
Delivery and Quality Assurance
Deliveries are scheduled within chosen windows to coincide with business operating hours, ensuring perishables are received and stored promptly. Amazon utilizes its temperature-controlled fulfillment network to maintain freshness throughout the delivery process. Each item undergoes a six-point quality check, and groceries marked with Amazon's Freshness Guarantee badge are backed by a promise to resolve any issues.
Pricing and Membership Benefits
For Business Prime members, same-day grocery delivery is free on orders exceeding $25 in most locations. Orders below this threshold incur a $2.99 fee for members. Non-Prime members can access the service for a $12.99 fee per order.
Amazon Business aims to leverage its extensive consumer grocery operations to bring convenience and selection to commercial clients. The company plans further expansion of this service through 2026.
