US Gov Taps Snowflake for AI Push

For years, the promise of a data-driven U.S. federal government, one that can quickly and securely share information to improve services and deploy innovative, effective, and governed AI tools, has been hampered by data silos and outdated IT. Today, that barrier is significantly lowered. Snowflake, through a new strategic OneGov agreement made available via the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), will make it easier for federal agencies to leverage its AI Data Cloud to enhance mission effectiveness.

Carahsoft, acting as the trusted government IT solutions provider, partnered with Snowflake to offer its data cloud through Carahsoft’s GSA MAS. This expands access for federal agencies with accessible, pre-negotiated pricing, simplifying procurement and accelerating modernization timelines.

The primary goal is to remove friction slowing digital transformation. Under this agreement, new U.S. federal Snowflake customers will receive substantial discounts on the AI Data Cloud, including up to 50% reduced compute costs. This allows agencies to better allocate resources, make faster decisions, and focus on serving their communities.

As GSA Administrator Edward C. Forst noted, "With stronger cross-agency data capabilities, we can accelerate AI tools tailored to each agency’s mission."
