Sakana AI has partnered with SMBC Group to develop an automated proposal generation application for its wholesale business. The tool, now being implemented at the Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC), leverages multiple AI agents to streamline the creation of client proposals.
The collaboration, initiated after a partnership agreement in May 2025, focuses on transforming the proposal process. The goal is to provide bank employees with faster, more expert responses to increasingly complex corporate management challenges.

This new application integrates Sakana AI's advanced technology into SMBC's intricate banking workflows. It employs a system of interconnected AI agents, each handling distinct tasks like information gathering, analysis, hypothesis formulation, narrative structuring, and quality assurance. This autonomous coordination aims to ensure consistent, high-quality proposal content.
The AI delves into a target company's financial and non-financial data. It goes beyond simple draft creation to offer novel perspectives and objective points that human analysts might overlook. This allows bank staff to concentrate on resolving core client issues.
The introduction at SMBC marks the first phase, with plans to expand AI agent technology to other business areas within the SMBC Group. Sakana AI intends to continue providing innovative AI solutions tailored to Japanese market needs, supporting the advancement of key industries like finance.
