Secret Desires AI Review: Is It Worth It? Features, Pricing and Verdict
Last updated: August 2026. We refresh this review as Secret Desires AI pricing, features and community sentiment change.
Secret Desires AI is worth it if you want one flat subscription instead of a coin meter, and it is not the right pick if you simply want the cheapest year. We opened six checkouts in this category in August 2026, including Candy AI and Kupid AI, and this is the only one that quotes a single plain figure for full access: $9.99 a month billed annually, everything included, one currency, no coin arithmetic. It also scores in the top band of the AI companion platforms we track, and the live score sits in the table below. Two real caveats: you cannot see the plan grid at all without registering, and the sale banner advertises a bigger discount than the checkout applies.

Secret Desires AI vs. the Alternatives
| Platform | Best For | Score | Cheapest | Try |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Flat pricing | 51 | $9.99/mo | Try | |
| Cheapest year | 43 | $0.19/day | Try | |
| Biggest library | 44 | EUR 3.99/mo | Try | |
| Weekly billing | 44 | EUR 3.43/wk | Try | |
| Message caps | 18 | $12.99/mo | Try | |
| Token top-ups | 32 | $69.99 yr 1 | Try |
Score is our own 0 to 100 StartupHub rating. "Cheapest" is each vendor's own lowest quoted price, in the unit they quote it in: per month, per day or per week. We opened all six checkouts in August 2026 rather than convert between them, because the units are the story. Annualised figures are in the comparison section below.
What Is Secret Desires AI?
Secret Desires AI is an uncensored AI companion platform: you browse or build a character, then chat, generate images and video, use voice, and take calls. It runs both directions of the category, with an AI girlfriend and an AI boyfriend catalogue rather than women only, and the character grid opens with mature content toggled off, which is unusual here and makes the homepage safe to open in front of a colleague by accident.
The company behind it is Playhouse Media LLC, registered at 8 The Green STE A, Dover, Delaware, with a second entity, Playhouse Media Trading Ltd, in Birkirkara, Malta. It publishes a Trust Hub, a transparency report, a content removal policy and a complaints policy, which is more disclosure than most of the platforms we profile in this category offer.
Secret Desires AI Pricing (2026)
There are two different pricing presentations, and which one you see depends on whether you are signed in. Logged out, /subscription shows three tiers, Pro at $7.99, Ultra at $13.99 and Max at $19.99 a month, and every one of them sits behind a "Register to View Plans" wall: you must create an account before the grid unlocks.
Signed in, the upgrade screen collapses that into a single Premium plan at $19.99 a month billed monthly, carrying 300 monthly Hearts, unlimited chatting, image and video generation, voice features and the premium chat and image engines.

Switch the toggle to yearly and the same Premium plan drops to $9.99 a month billed annually, which is $119.88 for the year. Their own copy frames it as saving $120 and calls it "6 months free", and the arithmetic holds: $19.99 across twelve months is $239.88, so the annual plan is genuinely half price.

Watch the Hearts line when you compare the two. Monthly gives 300 Hearts a month, which is 3,600 across a year. Yearly gives 3,600 Hearts. The allowance is identical, so the annual plan is the same product at half the price, and there is no Hearts penalty for paying monthly beyond the price itself.
One inconsistency worth naming: the sale banner across the top of the upgrade screen says 75% off, while the billing toggle it sits above applies 50%. We could not find a path where the 75% figure was the amount actually charged.
What a Heart actually buys
Hearts are the platform's internal credit, spent on the generative extras rather than on chatting, which is unlimited on Premium. The plan pages state the allowance, 100 a month on Pro, 200 on Ultra, 300 on Max and Premium, but not a per action price list, so the honest answer is that you cannot calculate your true monthly cost from the pricing page alone. That is the same criticism we made of My Dream Companion and its Dream Coins, and it applies here too.
Secret Desires AI Features
Chat engines, and what the tiers really gate
Every paid tier unlocks unlimited messaging. What the tiers actually gate is which model answers: advanced plus Pro engines at the bottom, Ultra engines in the middle, Max engines plus experimental engine access at the top. If you care about writing quality in long roleplay, that is the line that matters, not the message count.
Voice cloning sits on the middle tier
Voice features are on every paid plan, but voice cloning starts at Ultra. That is a more generous split than rivals who reserve voice for the top tier only.
Images, video and calls
Image and video generation and voice calls are included from the entry paid tier, metered by Hearts rather than locked. The premium image engines are a separate tier gate, so the cheapest plan generates, just not with the best model.
Characters and creation
The catalogue is browsable without an account and filterable by gender and style, with the usual category tabs. You can also build a partner from scratch through Create Partner, and there is a gallery and a per character chat history.
How the Price Compares
The interesting thing about this category is not who is cheapest. It is that almost nobody quotes a comparable number. We opened six checkouts for this review and got six different units: per month in dollars, per month in euros, per week in euros, per day, and an intro price that is nothing like the renewal.
My Dream Companion quotes per day. Premium is $0.40 a day, which its own button confirms is $11.99 billed monthly, and the yearly toggle drops it to $0.19 a day, which the same button confirms is $69.99 billed annually. Ultimate runs $1.50 a day monthly and $0.83 yearly. So the cheapest full year in this comparison is My Dream Companion at $69.99, and you only learn that by reading the small print under the button rather than the big number.

Candy AI, the biggest name here, prices in euros per month and discounts hard by term: EUR 13.99 for one month, EUR 8.99 a month on three months, and EUR 3.99 a month on twelve, against a EUR 13.99 anchor. On a twelve month term that works out at roughly EUR 48 for the year, which undercuts everything else in this table. The catch is reaching the grid at all: /pricing returns a 404, so these numbers only appear once you have an account.

Kupid AI prices in euros per week, behind a countdown clock: EUR 12.99 a week for one week, EUR 6.14 a week on three months, EUR 3.43 a week on twelve. At EUR 3.43 a week the twelve month plan is about EUR 178 across a year, which is the most expensive year here despite showing the smallest number on the button. A per week euro price under a 24 hour timer is the hardest format in this group to compare against a flat monthly figure, which is rather the point of using it.

Its checkout then re-offers the weekly plan at EUR 9.99 instead of EUR 12.99, so the price you first saw is not the price you are asked to pay.

Darlink AI is the most readable of the rivals: it leads with a per day figure but prints the monthly charge directly underneath. Essential is $0.43 a day, $12.99 a month, with 100 coins and a 6,000 message cap; Advanced is $0.93 a day, $27.99 a month, 300 coins and 9,000 messages; Ultimate is $1.67 a day, $49.99 a month, 500 coins and unlimited messages. Quarterly saves 15% and yearly 44%. It is also the only one here that tells you the message cap on each tier instead of calling it unlimited and metering something else.

DreamGF.ai is the one to read twice. Its public pricing page lists an annual membership at a $69.99 first payment with a recurring cost of $311.88 annually, and a three month membership at $12.99 first payment recurring at $25.99 a month. The intro number and the renewal number are far apart, and both are printed in the vendor's own words.
So where does Secret Desires AI land? Not cheapest. Candy AI's twelve month term at about EUR 48 and My Dream Companion's $69.99 both beat $119.88. What Secret Desires AI has is the only offer in the set you can read in one line: one plan, one currency, one billing period, everything included. In a category this deliberately confusing, that is worth paying something for, and if you value it at less than the roughly $50 gap to My Dream Companion, take the cheaper year.
What Real Users Say
Almost nothing, and that is a finding rather than a gap. We searched nine AI companion subreddits for this brand, r/MyGirlfriendIsAI, r/aigirlfriends, r/AICompanions, r/AIChatReviews, r/VirtualGirlfriendAI, r/NSFWAI, r/AIGirlfriendReviews, r/AI_Girlfriends and r/nsfwaiart, and found no thread that names it. The platform links a Reddit community from its own sidebar, but we found no posts there either. The same search in the same run returned live threads for the category generally, so the search itself was working.
For a product this polished, an absent community footprint is a real signal: rivals in this category are argued about constantly, and word of mouth is how most people in it pick a platform. What we do have is our own visitor votes, which is the star rating above, and those are genuine ratings from StartupHub readers rather than anything we or the vendor wrote.
Is Secret Desires AI Safe?
On disclosure it is better than the category norm. There is a named operating company in Delaware and a second in Malta, a Trust Hub, a security and safety page, a transparency report, a content removal policy with a request form, and a complaints policy. Payment descriptors are handled discreetly, which is standard here.
The things to know before you sign up: you cannot see plan pricing without creating an account, so you are handing over an email before you know the offer; mature content is off by default and you opt in; and every character in the catalogue carries a stated age of 18 or over. As with any platform in this category, assume that anything you type and any image you generate is stored on their infrastructure, and read the content removal policy before you upload a likeness.
Who Should Use Secret Desires AI?
Use it if you want one bill for everything and you would rather pay $119.88 once a year than track a coin balance; if you want an AI boyfriend catalogue as well as a girlfriend one; or if voice cloning matters but paying for a top tier to get it does not appeal.
Skip it if price is the only thing you are optimising, because Candy AI's twelve month term lands near EUR 48 and My Dream Companion's at $69.99; if you refuse to hand over an email before seeing a price; or if you want a platform with an active user community to consult, because this one does not have one yet.
If you want to see how it lines up against everything else we score, the Secret Desires AI profile carries the live score breakdown and its alternatives page lists the closest platforms we track.
Bottom Line
Secret Desires AI is the price legibility pick in a category built on making comparison hard. Full access is $19.99 a month, or $9.99 a month billed annually, with the same 3,600 Hearts either way, and that is the whole offer: no coin maths, no per week euro conversion, no intro rate that quadruples on renewal. Deduct points for the registration wall in front of the plan grid and for a sale banner whose headline discount is not the one applied. It is not the cheapest year here, and if that is your only criterion the table above points elsewhere. If you would rather know exactly what you are paying before you commit, this is the one to start with.
