Characters are built from face, body, voice and personality options, and the platform advertises memory that carries preferences between sessions. Memory is the hardest claim in this category to verify from the outside, and it is where community reports about every platform, not just this one, tend to diverge most from the marketing. Treat it as unproven until you have run a week of your own conversations.

We searched the subreddits where this category actually gets discussed, including r/MyGirlfriendIsAI, r/aigirlfriends, r/AICompanions, r/AIChatReviews and r/VirtualGirlfriendAI, and then ran a site-wide Reddit search on top. SweetDream AI has almost no organic footprint: a handful of mentions inside broader "best AI girlfriend app" threads, and one dedicated review post. The subreddit the company links from its own footer returned nothing at all.

The one substantive thread is a two weeks of testing writeup on r/chatbot from February 2026. Its only comment is the useful part: a Premium subscriber describes typing a request to start a live video call, getting a text reply in character but no video feed, and being pushed toward buying tokens after a few attempts. SweetDream AI is a competent multimedia companion platform wrapped in a pricing page that works hard not to be understood. The product is real: three character categories including AI boyfriends, live calls and cam, a free tier that does not demand a card. The problem is that the plan and the tokens are two separate bills, the feature list beside the plan presents the live formats as included benefits without saying they draw down a token balance, and the one live format the platform leads with, video calling, has no published token rate at all.
