Gnosis Completes $15M Acquisition of HQ.xyz to Accelerate Onchain Business Banking, Marking Expansion to Asia

Gnosis has acquired Headquarters (HQ.xyz), the leading onchain business account platform, in a strategic move to accelerate its Gnosis 3.0 roadmap. The deal includes an initial investment of up to $8.95 million from the GnosisDAO treasury, approved through a DAO vote in January. In parallel, Gnosis Ltd. has committed an additional $6 million in working capital to support the growth, compliance, and operations over the next two years - bringing the total acquisition investment to $14.95 million, making it one of largest acquisitions from the Gnosis ecosystem to date.

This move also marks Gnosis’ first formal expansion into Asia and is central to its broader strategy to scale real-world stablecoin payments globally. With this move, HQ.xyz will bring the Gnosis ecosystem deeper into business use cases, providing access to fiat ramps, financial reporting infrastructure, and HQ.xyz’s self-custodial Visa® corporate card offering.

HQ.xyz will be rebranded to Gnosis HQ and fully integrated into the broader Gnosis ecosystem, alongside Gnosis Chain, Gnosis Pay, and affiliates such as Safe, CoW Swap, and karpatkey. This move signals Gnosis’ expansion into building applications to propel the adoption of an open internet. As marked by Gnosis 3.0, Gnosis furthers its vision of an open web after years of building decentralised infrastructure to now applications in the payments, identity and a web that is made decentralised, globally accessible and secure.

To start, Gnosis will leverage HQ’s payment offerings: (1) a self-custodial Visa corporate debit card that lets businesses spend stablecoins at over 300 million merchants worldwide, and (2) stablecoin off-ramps to third-party bank accounts. In addition, HQ’s reporting suite to simplify reconciliation of digital assets with popular accounting software like Xero and QuickBooks.

The establishment of Gnosis HQ also marks the Gnosis’ expansion into Asia, starting with Singapore where HQ.xyz is headquartered. The HQ.xyz leadership team brings over a decade of experience spanning the tech startup, fintech, and Web3 ecosystems in Asia, especially in Southeast Asia. Sharon Paul, CEO, was formerly in the founding team of StraitsX, the leading regulated stablecoin issuer in Singapore. Sunny Singh, CTO, was the lead technical product manager of data in leading Southeast Asia firm, Traveloka.
