HeroDevs LLC secured a $125 million strategic growth investment from PSG. This funding will expand its long-term support for legacy open-source software.

Bolstering Legacy Software Security

HeroDevs offers Never-Ending Support solutions, providing secure replacements for vulnerable or unsupported open-source versions. Furthermore, the rapid adoption of artificial intelligence increases the use of open-source software components, consequently raising vulnerability counts.

The company also committed $20 million to the HeroDevs Open Source Sustainability Fund. This fund supports creators and maintainers following end-of-life best practices. Developers can apply for grants between $25,000 and $250,000.

Competitors like Snyk and Synopsys also address aspects of cybersecurity in the open-source ecosystem. HeroDevs focuses specifically on long-term support for deprecated projects.
