Songhee Yoon's Journey
Yoon's academic journey began at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) from 1993-1996, followed by her undergraduate studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) from 1996-2000, where she earned a PhD in computational neuroscience. This interdisciplinary foundation in understanding the human brain and computational systems has deeply influenced her approach to technology and investment. She also briefly attended Stanford University Graduate School of Business in July 1996, gaining business acumen alongside her scientific pursuits. From 2016-2020, she pursued a Juris Doctor at Santa Clara University School of Law, further broadening her understanding of the legal and ethical frameworks surrounding technology.
