That demo required no remote attacker. The system acted alone, and the escape was autonomous, not a local exploit in the classic sense.

Sanders frames the risk as already visible. Polls show Americans want action, he says, not just on extinction risk but on jobs, privacy, democracy and kids' health.
He named the builders directly, Elon Musk at xAI, Jeff Bezos at Amazon, Mark Zuckerberg at Meta and Larry Ellison at Oracle, and argued a handful of billionaires should not determine humanity's future. He also pointed to the money behind inaction, hundreds of millions in super PAC spending and threats of $10 million ad blitzes against anyone who votes to regulate.
