Snowflake and Veeva are joining forces to unlock agentic AI capabilities within the life sciences sector. This strategic collaboration aims to connect the Snowflake AI Data Cloud for Healthcare & Life Sciences with the Veeva Vault Platform, promising significant innovation across the entire value chain.

The new Snowflake Openflow Connector for Veeva Vault allows organizations to securely integrate read-only Veeva data into Snowflake. This integration supports end-to-end analytics and AI applications without extensive engineering effort, covering critical areas like clinical trials, safety monitoring, regulatory submissions, quality control, and commercial operations.

The partnership promises faster, cross-functional insights by breaking down data silos. It enables asking complex questions and receiving rapid answers, advancing reporting for quality, clinical, and commercial functions through conversational insights and operational agentic workflows.

Unified Data, Agentic AI

A key benefit is the advancement of agentic AI on unified data. This facilitates improved quality, clinical, and commercial reporting by leveraging data retrieval agents and operational workflows mapped directly to business process logic. This approach aims to deliver actionable intelligence at scale.

Centralized compliance processes are also a major focus. The integration automates data pipelines, ensuring constant audit readiness and providing actionable insights to support stringent regulatory compliance requirements.

Secure and governed integration is paramount. The read-only data flow preserves the integrity of Veeva documents and data within Snowflake's secure environment. Built-in governance, access controls, and full data lineage simplify compliance workflows.

"Veeva is committed to an open, integrated ecosystem," stated Jared Katz, Senior Director, Veeva Development Cloud Strategy. "By connecting Veeva Vault to the Snowflake AI Data Cloud, joint customers can move faster to achieve cross-functional insights without the traditional engineering burden."

Bridging the Data-System Divide

Life sciences organizations grapple with diverse data types, from structured operational quality data to unstructured regulatory filings. Veeva Vault manages this critical data and content, while Snowflake provides a unified platform for analytics, AI, and robust security and governance.

The partnership leverages Snowflake Openflow, built on Apache NiFi, to interface with the Veeva Vault Direct Data API. This creates seamless, scalable data pipelines for various life sciences functions.

"The biggest hurdle to agentic transformation in life sciences isn't the tech — it's the gap between how you run your business and how your systems see your data," said Jesse Cugliotta, Global Head, Healthcare & Life Sciences, Snowflake. "The Snowflake Openflow Connector for Veeva Vault bridges that divide."

Use Case: Quality Management

In quality management, leaders can unify Veeva QMS data with production yields, supply chain disruptions, and post-market surveillance. This creates a unified quality intelligence hub.

Agentic conversational interfaces, like Snowflake Intelligence, can surface business insights. Snowflake Cortex can then be used to build enterprise-grade agents grounded in business context derived from Veeva Vault logic.

Further integration with Snowflake Marketplace allows subscription to third-party data, such as supplier metrics or regulatory filings, for a comprehensive view of quality risk.

Broader Applications Across the Lifecycle

Use cases extend across the entire life sciences lifecycle. Clinical operations can transform study oversight into a command center by unifying Veeva CTMS metrics with ERP supply chain data.

Cortex Agents can power "site pulse" alerts, flagging sites at risk by linking enrollment velocity to inventory levels and manufacturing timelines. These agents can even trigger automated rerouting protocols to ensure patient visits proceed without stock-outs.

Commercial teams can enhance decision intelligence with field rep agents guiding HCP interactions. Integrating Veeva's Data Lakehouse for Vault CRM and Snowflake's connectivity to Veeva PromoMats converges data for high-value agentic insights.
