Amazon's shopping AI, Rufus, is expanding its price transparency features, now offering customers a full 365 days of price history on products in the US, UK, and India. This enhancement aims to empower shoppers with more data for informed purchasing.
Previously offering shorter windows, the update allows users to view 30, 90, and 365-day price fluctuations. This move directly addresses customer demand for clearer insight into product pricing trends.
According to Amazon News, over 50 million customers have already leveraged the price history feature since its 2024 debut. The tool is reportedly checked by the average customer three times a month.
Accessing Price History with Rufus
Shoppers can access the price history data in two primary ways. The first is by clicking a direct link on any product detail page, located near the price. Alternatively, users can tap the Rufus icon within the Amazon Shopping app or desktop interface and ask specific questions about pricing history.
Example queries include "Has this item been on sale in the past 30 days?" or "What's the price history?" The feature is available across the US, UK, Canada, and India, with the 365-day view rolling out progressively.
