Evos raised $9M in pre-seed funding to put autonomous operators inside small industrial businesses, the company said October 14.
The number that matters is $1M in ARR four weeks after going live, according to Evos.
That is early for a company coming out of stealth, and it frames the $9M round co-led by Uncork Capital and Field Ventures with participation from Crosslink Capital, Utopia Capital Management and Sandwith Ventures, according to the company. The comparison Evos wants you to make is speed to value: a working operator the next day after a one-hour session with an expert, versus 9 to 18 months for a consultant-led implementation, per the company. Unite.AI reported the release explicitly ties fully autonomous operation to demonstrated performance and the customer’s chosen level of oversight, and noted Evos’s architecture page describes three connected systems behind the operators, detail not in the announcement.
The workflow that has to change is not in engineering. It is in billing and ops at small carriers and factories. Evos said 99.3% of US motor carriers run fewer than 100 trucks and 93% of US manufacturers have fewer than 100 employees, and each runs its own way with know-how rarely written down.
Urav Shah, founder and chief executive of Evos, said the most capable system in many of these businesses is the person who has been there 20 years and what they know has never been written down, and that an operator learns the job from those people and proves it can match them before taking work on by itself. Evos said its operators learn from behavior, not text, and only take a function fully autonomously once decisions consistently match the team’s, with the business choosing the oversight level.
