Abstract Security, a startup focused on rethinking security operations through data-centric infrastructure, announced today it raised $15 million in an oversubscribed Series A round. The funding, led by Munich Re Ventures with participation from Crosslink Capital and Rally Ventures, aims to fuel the company's efforts to modernize security analytics and improve threat detection through advanced data routing and analytics pipelines.

Founded in 2023, Abstract Security tackles the growing complexity in enterprise security, where fragmented data and siloed tools can slow down threat detection. The platform addresses these gaps by creating a unified data fabric that aggregates security data streams, optimizing them in real-time for faster insights. Abstract’s platform reduces unnecessary data noise, bringing only the most actionable intelligence to the surface while improving SIEM efficiency.

"Munich Re Ventures is excited to back Abstract in building the next generation of security operations," said Blake Pennington, principal at Munich Re Ventures. "Abstract isn't just filling gaps in the security landscape—it’s fundamentally redesigning how security data flows and operates, making threat detection smarter and faster."

The company’s ecosystem is powered by the Abstract Intelligence Gallery, which integrates with over 100 leading security providers, including CrowdStrike, Cyware, and Google Mandiant. This allows security teams to blend internal data with external threat intelligence, leading to better visibility across multi-cloud environments.

Abstract’s leadership team brings extensive experience from industry giants like ArcSight, Palo Alto Networks, and Sumo Logic. CEO and co-founder Colby DeRodeff highlighted the company’s mission to link security analytics directly to business outcomes. "From the outset, we’ve focused on driving measurable value for organizations by eliminating data silos and reducing operational complexity," DeRodeff said. "This new round will enable us to scale rapidly and further refine how enterprises use data to secure their environments."

This Series A follows Abstract's $8.5 million seed round earlier this year, bringing the total capital raised to $23.5 million. The new funding will help Abstract build out its product suite and expand partnerships, as organizations continue to struggle with the speed and sophistication of cyber threats.
