Deep Space Energy SIA is a Latvian startup focused on developing and commercializing novel radioscopic generator technology. This technology repurposes radioisotopes, derived from nuclear waste, to generate heat through natural decay, which is then converted into electric power. Their solution aims to be significantly more efficient than existing thermoelectric generators, requiring less radioisotope fuel. Initially targeting dual-use orbital arrays for the European space and defense industry, providing redundant power for reconnaissance and early-warning systems, the company's long-term vision includes powering lunar surface exploration, addressing critical power challenges in extreme environments where solar power is not viable.
