Robinhood has begun rolling out the beta version of its Robinhood Social platform, a move signaling its ambition to become the primary hub for active traders. The app integrates a social community layer directly into the trading experience.

First previewed last fall at the HOOD Summit, Robinhood Social aims to provide a verified space for users to discuss strategies, follow peers, and view live, authentic trades. This initiative seeks to counter the rampant misinformation often found on general social media platforms when discussing markets.

The beta program is initially limited to 1,000 customers who attended the September HOOD Summit, with plans to expand to an additional 10,000 users in the coming weeks. Selected participants will be notified directly by Robinhood.

"This is an important early milestone for Robinhood Social, but it’s just the beginning," stated Abhishek Fatehpuria, VP of Product Management at Robinhood. "Beta allows us to learn quickly and build thoughtfully, prioritizing quality, trust, and feedback from our most active traders."

Robinhood Social allows users to create verified trader profiles, showcasing their stats and live trades. The platform enables direct interaction, allowing users to post trades, follow other traders, comment on discussions, and manually execute trades from their feed.

During the beta phase, users can post trades across stocks, single-leg options, crypto, and prediction markets. They can also review other traders' performance metrics, including 1-year and daily P&L and profit rates, with the ability to inspect past trades.

Additional features, such as news feeds, trade posting for futures and multi-leg options, and the ability to follow institutional investors and public figures, are slated for future beta releases.

The selection criteria for beta testers prioritized trading activity, frequency, and user experience research, aiming to gather crucial insights for product refinement. This feedback will shape future development, content moderation policies, and the eventual general availability of the platform.

Robinhood is committed to building a secure, compliant, and reliable social trading environment. The current focus remains on community building, feedback collection, product enhancement, and responsible scaling.
