Amazon is merging its AI shopping assistant Rufus with its ubiquitous voice assistant Alexa to create "Alexa for Shopping." This move aims to deliver a deeply personalized AI shopping companion across Amazon's app, website, and Echo Show devices.
The new offering fuses Rufus's extensive product data and shopping history insights with Alexa's contextual understanding and user preferences.
Customers can now query directly in the main Amazon search bar, receive AI-generated overviews for product categories, and generate dynamic product comparisons.
It also offers features like up to a year of price history tracking and automated deal finding.
Personalized shopping guides for major purchases and routine cart building based on user habits are also part of the package.
