Dawnguard has officially launched its security architecture automation platform, designed to build secure cloud systems from the ground up. The AI-native startup has also secured $6.3 million in total funding, with a recent $3.3 million pre-seed extension.

As AI accelerates software development, traditional security tools struggle to keep pace with risks introduced early in the design phase. Dawnguard's platform aims to address this by turning secure architecture into deployable infrastructure, catching vulnerabilities before they become systemic issues.

The 'Mythos Era' Challenge

The company cites the rise of AI and autonomous systems as creating a 'Mythos Era.' In this environment, software evolves and is exploited faster than current security processes can handle.

"Cybersecurity has become trapped in an endless cycle of detection, response, and patching," said CEO and Co-Founder Mahdi Abdulrazak.

He added that the traditional model of adding security later is increasingly indefensible against machine-speed attackers.

Automating Security by Design

Dawnguard's platform enables organizations to:

  • Design secure, compliant cloud architectures prior to deployment.
  • Automatically generate production-ready Infrastructure as Code.
  • Continuously validate that deployed environments match approved designs.
  • Eliminate security drift between architectural intent and operational reality.
  • Facilitate collaboration between engineering and security teams in a shared workspace.

The platform bridges the gap between security intent and operational reality by translating architectural designs into enforceable code.

Funding and Expansion

The recent $3.3 million pre-seed round was led by BNVT Capital, with participation from Curiosity VC and eCAPITAL. This brings Dawnguard's total funding to over $6.3 million.

The company also announced the opening of its New York City office.

The new capital will fuel product development, AI-driven architecture intelligence, and international expansion.

"Security should not exist in documents, spreadsheets, or diagrams. It should exist in the systems themselves," stated CTO and Co-Founder Kim van Lavieren.

Dawnguard envisions security architecture as a foundational control layer, integrating security, compliance, and operational excellence from the initial concept of digital systems.
