Clarivate Forms Strategic Partnership with AI21 Labs to Integrate Generative AI for Academic Search

Clarivate (NYSE: CLVT), a global leader in providing trusted intelligence to individuals and organizations, announced a strategic partnership with AI21 Labs to enhance growth with Generative AI for academic conversational search and discovery.

The collaboration aims to weave AI21 Labs' large language models (LLMs) into Clarivate's solutions, enabling academic conversational discovery that's intuitive and specifically tailored to foster researcher excellence. It promises success for researchers and students while sticking to fundamental academic principles and values.

In the partnership, Clarivate plans to augment its library solutions by combining curated and trusted content from its database with AI21 Labs' LLMs. The integration will offer students, faculty, and researchers rapid access to comprehensive, context-specific information and answers, along with more personalized services. It will also provide relevant recommendations. The implementation of conversational search across discovery solutions will enable students to intuitively engage with discovery services, databases, and collections to receive more diverse and relevant results based on trusted content.

The announcement builds on AI21 Labs' recent addition to Amazon's Bedrock platform, which allows a access to, customization, and integration of AI21 Labs' top-performing Jurassic-2 foundation models into their AWS environments. In December last year, they jointly announced the integration of AI21 Labs' models within Amazon's SageMaker platform.
