Rilevera raises $3M to advance automated detection engineering

Rilevera has raised $3 million in seed funding, led by DataTribe Foundry.

Detection engineering is the process of creating and maintaining rules to identify cyberthreats. These rules analyze signals like system logs and network activity. Security teams face a constant challenge with this process. The underlying data and log formats change frequently, which causes detection rules to break or become inaccurate. Rilevera built a centralized platform to solve this problem. It allows security teams to create, test, deploy, and monitor detection rules from one place. The platform uses artificial intelligence to validate rule performance. It flags issues and recommends adjustments to keep detections effective. This provides a system of record for detection engineering workflows. In one customer deployment, Rilevera found that only 5% of the company's 1,000 detection rules worked as intended. The platform identifies these broken rules and suggests how to fix them.

Rilevera integrates with major security platforms from Datadog Inc. and Sumo Logic Inc. This allows rules to be managed centrally across different systems.

Rilevera plans to use the capital to expand its product team, grow its integration ecosystem, and support sales efforts.
