Prior to that he led the licensing and funding of a regenerative medicine, university spin-out focused on cutaneous wound healing. Other experience includes small molecule pharmaceuticals, where he invented a novel redox discovery platform, and development of integrated, microfluidic diagnostic devices for life science and environmental applications. He has contributed to green technologies (high power-density batteries), consumer products (wearables for vital sign collection), and interpretive software for understanding of physiological, bioelectronic signals (machine learning, algorithm-based). Trained as a chemical engineer, Dr. Binyamin received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a PhD from The University of Texas at Austin in the laboratory of Professor Adam Heller. Post-graduate studies were completed at Stanford University as a BioDesign Surgical Innovation Fellow. Dr. Binyamin is a co-author on more than twenty peer-review publications, holds thirteen patents and patent applications, and numerous conference presentations. He is currently a subcommittee co-chair within the cardiovascular committee of ASTM International, and a member of the Chemical Angels Network.
