Gary Binyamin

Dr. Binyamin is an executive and entrepreneur with over 20 years experience promoting technologies from concept through commercialization. He has held leadership roles in medical device, diagnostic, pharmaceutical, software, and material science companies; ranging from start-up ventures to publicly-traded corporations. Demonstrating a track record of success across strategic and operational roles, with products acquired or distributed by Medtronic, Teleflex, Phillips, and J&J (Cordis). As Chief Scientific Officer for TriReme Medical LLC (QT Vascular), Dr. Binyamin developed devices and combination (drug-device) products for the treatment of vascular lesions; including the Chocolate Heart and the Chocolate Touch Paclitaxel-Coated Balloon Catheters. Prior to that he led the licensing and funding of a regenerative medicine, university spin-out focused on cutaneous wound healing. Other experience includes small molecule pharmaceuticals, where he invented a novel redox discovery platform, and development of integrated, microfluidic diagnostic devices for life science and environmental applications. He has contributed to green technologies (high power-density batteries), consumer products (wearables for vital sign collection), and interpretive software for understanding of physiological, bioelectronic signals (machine learning, algorithm-based). Trained as a chemical engineer, Dr. Binyamin received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a PhD from The University of Texas at Austin in the laboratory of Professor Adam Heller. Post-graduate studies were completed at Stanford University as a BioDesign Surgical Innovation Fellow. Dr. Binyamin is a co-author on more than twenty peer-review publications, holds thirteen patents and patent applications, and numerous conference presentations. He is currently a subcommittee co-chair within the cardiovascular committee of ASTM International, and a member of the Chemical Angels Network.
