QuamCore Secures $26M for 1M-Qubit Quantum Computer

QuamCore, an Israeli deep tech startup, secured $26 million in Series A funding. Sentinel Global led the round. This investment aims to develop a one-million-qubit quantum computing system. Consequently, total funding for the company now stands at $35 million.

Advancing Quantum Scalability

QuamCore's innovation focuses on scaling superconducting qubits. Current advanced systems, such as those from Google and IBM, typically support around 5,000 qubits per cryostat. QuamCore has designed an architecture capable of scaling to one million qubits within a single cryostat. This approach significantly reduces the need for extensive multi-cryostat infrastructure.

Furthermore, the company integrates superconducting digital control logic directly into the cryostat. This integration minimizes cabling and eliminates thermal bottlenecks. The design also incorporates built-in error correction for fault-tolerant operation.

The company will move from design to fabrication of its first-generation processors. It will also establish a dedicated quantum lab and scale operations.

Arkin Capital participated in the Series A round. Existing investors Viola Ventures, Earth & Beyond Ventures, Surround Ventures, Rhodium, and Quantum Leap also contributed. Additionally, the Israel Innovation Authority provided a $4 million non-dilutive grant. QuamCore, founded in 2022, is based in Herzliya, Israel. This funding accelerates chip production and prototype integration.
