Automating Your Daily Brief

Zaghian showcases a personalized 'Chief of Staff' chat within the ChatGPT desktop app. This agent is configured to connect with Slack, email, and Google Calendar. Its primary function is to consolidate urgent tasks, upcoming deadlines, meetings, and other essential context, providing a comprehensive overview before the workday begins. If a user needs guidance on their next steps, they can simply ask ChatGPT. The system can even be set up to deliver a daily brief every weekday morning, allowing users to review their priorities with their morning coffee.

Streamlining Feedback Triage

The demonstration extends to managing team feedback, particularly for technical onboarding at OpenAI. Ideas and suggestions from internal team members are collected from various sources, including Slack, Notion, and Google Drive. To address this, a separate scheduled task has been created in a chat named 'Feedback Triage'. This task runs weekly in the background, automatically summarizing feedback into a Google Doc and posting the summary to the team's Slack channel. This automation significantly reduces the manual effort required to process and act upon team input.

Workspace Agents for Team Collaboration

A key advancement highlighted is the ability to transform local workflows into shareable Workspace Agents. The 'Feedback Triage' workflow, initially running on a single laptop, can be converted into a cloud-based agent. This allows an entire team to access and utilize the automated process directly through ChatGPT or Slack. Zaghian notes that converting a scheduled task into a Workspace Agent is a straightforward process, initiated by simply asking ChatGPT.

Once in the cloud, these agents operate as distinct entities, available to the whole team. The implication is that repeatable tasks, once automated as agents, can function continuously, supporting team productivity around the clock.
