Elea & Lili

Elea & Lili is a deeptech startup spun out of VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland. The company is focused on industrializing its proprietary Cellulose Super Absorbent (CSA) material, a sustainable and biodegradable alternative to conventional fossil-based superabsorbent polymers. Their CSA material is designed to match the performance of traditional materials while addressing environmental concerns related to plastic waste and microplastic pollution. Elea & Lili targets large-scale applications in disposable hygiene products and agriculture, aiming to replace non-biodegradable components and improve water retention and nutrient efficiency. The company is collaborating with industrial partners to scale production and plans early commercial launches in Europe and the US.
