Chevrolet, a brand under General Motors (GM), has revived the Bolt EV for the 2027 model year. The new Bolt is built on the chassis and body panels of the Bolt EUV, with redesigned front and rear sections. It features a new 65 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery, a more efficient electric motor, and improved charging speeds. The 2027 Bolt is positioned as the cheapest EV for sale in the U.S., with a starting price of $28,995. It also offers GM's Super Cruise hands-free driver-assistance system as an optional feature on specific trims. The infotainment system is Android Automotive-based and lacks Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, but includes integrated Spotify and Apple Music apps. The revival is partly attributed to a production gap at GM's Fairfax, Kansas factory and the company's growing EV parts inventory.
