Sumit Dhawan

Sumit Dhawan is the CEO of Proofpoint, a leading cybersecurity company focused on defending organizations from advanced cyber threats and compliance risks. He leads a global workforce of over 4,500 employees. Prior to Proofpoint, he was President of VMware where he drove over $13 billion in sales. He was also CEO of Instart, a startup delivering innovations in web application performance and security. He spent 14 years at Citrix leading engineering, product development, marketing, and general management. Dhawan holds an MBA from the University of Florida, an MS in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota, and a BS in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT).
