Itai started the company from his garage in Mountain View, CA, with his high school friend, Amir Glatt, who is now CTO. In 2008 they both noticed how the Internet was shifting towards mobile and the need for a better mobile-first experience to attract customers on the go. Over the years that platform has evolved and today Duda offers a fully responsive website builder targeted at digital marketing agencies and SaaS platforms. Duda has over 1M websites hosted on its platform. Itai's expertise related related to SMBs, digital agencies and online marketing has been cited by USA Today, Website Magazine, The Huffington Post, TechCrunch and more. He speaks regularly on the topics of local, web design and startups at industry events and conferences. Prior to founding Duda, Itai held business development, product and engineering positions at companies such as SAP and Amdocs. At age 21, he also founded InterSight, a start-up for data storage. Itai has a BSc in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Ben Gurion in Israel. “Duda” is a variation of “Dude,” which is the main character in my favorite movies of all time, The Big Lebowski. Today the business is a >400 people company, with ~$200m in revenue and offices in several countries. We raised >$200m from Insight & Goldman, and done >$100m of liquidity cumulatively (not just for us founders). Learned some things through the journey. Still on the board. Stepped off as an employee end of 2019. I started investing and supporting other entrepreneurs around 2018. Ro Health (5B), Frame.io (Sold to Adobe recently @ 1.3b) & Forter (3B) have been my main private investments. I do very few things. In 2018-2020 I have deployed >$90m into nine companies - primarily into B-pre IPO rounds, and always alongside institutional venture/growth equity firms, acting flexibly as either lead or meaningful co-investor. Good companies often want branded rounds. It is fulfilling to help craft those, when you've done a lot of them yourself and understand what it's like on the fundraising side. In 2019 I led my first $50m Series C round, into Frame.io, and joined the board on behalf of Insight. If we talk about my investing in your company with Insight I'll provide full details on how that works. In 2020 I led Homesome's $6.7m Series A with several Unicorn execs/founders, and Forter's $120m Series E on a TS I issued, with Bessemer and Felix joining. I enjoy working alongside founder CEOs and look to do few, concentrated, big things that allow me to spend a lot of time with a small group. Yes, this isn't a normal set up. Normal doesn't achieve outlier results. Ask the VC selling you if they've ever actually made >$10m as a founder. Or if they have an audited IRR >100%. Better yet, ask them how they earned the right to deploy capital in the first place - If it's not a grueling story, something is off - they had it too easy ;-)- Itai TurbahnItai Turbahn
