Olivier Perier

After 12 successful years as co-founder of Urban Platform, an architectural firm whose mission is sustainable architecture and programmes on an urban and territorial scale, I became Chief Executive Officer of SPDG in 2010 after academic studies at SOLVAY Business School and INSEAD. Besides active involvement in the listed family owned D’IETEREN GROUP, our family branch’s “enterprise”, SPDG, is developing its Venture and Capital investment arms, as well as a Foundation supporting human capital, knowledge and research. At SPDG Ventures, I lead a team of 20 people dedicated “to build platforms of innovative companies that are sustainably improving the future of cities, by making them healthier, safer and smarter”. We co-found or co-build companies providing solutions for several urban applications like space, technology, climate, mobility, health and citizen in the city, mostly in the EU, the USA and in Israel. Called upon to take several key governing roles in the D’IETEREN GROUP, active in the Automotive industry for 7 generations, I am now serving as Deputy Chairman of the board of directors and Chairman of the group’s Strategic Committee. As a personal commitment, I am an ambassador of the EPIC Foundation, which provides solutions to achieve great social impact “make giving a norm” and a board member of the International Polar Foundation, which supports polar scientific research and promotes informed actions on climate change. Father of three and married, I am a keen sailor, mountaineer, runner and traveler, who believes in progress through innovation as well as in the human capacity to make things better with curiosity, courage, care and respect.”
