Aaron Engen

Aaron Engen is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO), a role he assumed in August 2024. He brings over two decades of experience in investment banking and law, most recently serving as Vice Chair of Investment and Corporate Banking at BMO Capital Markets. Engen has a strong background in energy infrastructure and the energy transition, with expertise in areas such as hydrogen, carbon capture, and renewable power.
