Robinhood is doubling down on its appeal to active traders with a suite of new features announced at its HOOD Summit 2025. The centerpiece is Robinhood Social, a new in-app community designed to combat market misinformation.

This platform promises live, verified trades and authentic user profiles, allowing users to discuss strategies and follow expert traders. It aims to be the go-to hub for market discourse, integrating stocks, options, futures, and crypto trading without app switching.

CEO Vlad Tenev declared Robinhood is evolving into a "financial superapp," a significant pivot from its origins. The move seeks to capture traders who currently rely on less regulated social media for market insights.

Robinhood Social will allow users to view verified P&L and past trades, fostering transparency. The company is also incorporating data on publicly reported trades from prominent figures like politicians and hedge funds, sourced from third-party data providers.

The platform will initially launch via invitation in early 2026, with broader availability and no additional cost expected later.

Legend Grows Up

The company also detailed significant upgrades to its browser-based trading platform, Robinhood Legend, and its AI assistant, Robinhood Cortex. These enhancements are part of a broader push to offer robust active trader tools.

New additions include AI-powered custom indicators and scans built via natural language prompts, eliminating the need for coding. These tools will sync across desktop and mobile platforms.

Futures trading on Legend is rolling out, offering access to over 40 CME Group products without PDT rules or additional data fees for Gold members. This includes trading directly from charts or the new ladder widget.

The trading ladder, previously a mobile-exclusive, is now available on Legend for stocks, ETFs, and crypto, enabling faster one-click trades with real-time data.

Short selling capabilities are also being introduced across both mobile and Legend platforms in the coming months. This feature allows traders to profit from declining asset prices or hedge existing positions.

Overnight trading for select Index Options is slated for early 2026, expanding trading hours significantly.

Robinhood is clearly aiming to solidify its position beyond its meme-stock origins, catering to a more sophisticated and demanding trading demographic.
