Claude Reflection Dashboard: Track and Understand Your AI Usage

Anthropic has rolled out a new beta feature, the Claude reflection dashboard, designed to help users understand and refine their interaction with the AI assistant. Announced on July 9, 2026, this tool addresses a common user desire to integrate AI more effectively into daily life, providing insights into usage patterns and task types.

The dashboard, accessible via Settings on Claude for web or desktop, offers a summary of Claude activity over periods ranging from one month to a year. It breaks down when Claude is used most and for what purposes, with future updates promising a time-spent metric.

Shaping AI Habits

Beyond simple metrics, the reflection dashboard encourages users to critically examine Claude's role in their routines. It periodically poses questions, such as "What's one thing you want to keep doing yourself, even if Claude could do it faster?" allowing for direct dialogue with Claude on the topic.

Users can also set 'quiet hours' or schedule 'nudges' to take breaks from Claude, reinforcing personal usage preferences. These features are dismissible, serving as gentle reminders rather than strict mandates.

The dashboard integrates the 4D AI Fluency Framework: Delegation, Description, Discernment, and Diligence. It summarizes user activity across these dimensions, offering practical suggestions like initiating a 'Project' for ongoing work to maintain context.

Privacy and Sensitive Data

Anthropic emphasizes privacy in the dashboard's design. It excludes incognito chats and underlying files from connected tools; for instance, an email summary might appear, but the source emails do not. Conversations linked to health integration tools are entirely omitted.

The insights generated remain private and are not used for any other purpose. Anthropic collaborated with experts from the MIT Media Lab, Boston Children’s Hospital, and the Family Online Safety Institute to develop its approach to sensitive topics, ensuring high-level summaries without exposing personal details.

Currently, the reflection dashboard is available in beta for Free, Pro, and Max users with 'Memory' enabled. Users can generate their report by accessing Settings in the Claude web or desktop app.
