OVERVIEW

The Target & Natural-Organic Customer Finance role provides a unique opportunity to partner closely with General Mills Sales leaders (including Zone VP and direct reports) while developing commercial acumen and influencing the execution of brand strategies.  The Senior Financial Analyst manages Reported Net Sales (RNS) & Trade spending across Target & Nat-Org customers, influencing strategy & execution for this strategically important group. 

As a key member of the Central Sales team, you’ll strive to deliver customer revenue growth targets aligned with the Operating Unit (OU) category strategies. You will also receive exposure to customer Joint Business Planning, including negotiation strategies, competitive/category landscape assessments, pricing analytics, and scenario planning. Lastly, you will own significant functional & customer processes including monthly RNS estimates & annual Sales Plan. This role also offers the opportunity to build financial fluency across the Sales function to enable results.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Serve independently as the financial leader for the Target & Natural-Organic Grocery customers, responsible for financial results, forecasting, and related processes:

  • Deliver Plan Results: RNS growth within Operating Unit-aligned Trade Spend Per Case (SPC) targets
  • Lead accurate & balanced Field forecast and year-end trade call
  • Drive alignment between customer & OU strategies, along with financial estimates
  • Support best practice sharing & process optimization across Sales & Trade Finance
  • Partner across the Sales, Brand, and Finance teams to influence Trade Strategy and improve Trade Effectiveness
  • Key relationships include Zone Sales VP, OU Sales Strategy & Planning Director, Regional Sales Director, Zone Operations Manager, Senior Regional Planning Manager, and Senior Customer Managers, as well as OU Finance Team & Central NAR Sales Finance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.A. or B.S in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field
  • Years of work experience: 3+
  • Partnership for Impact to be curious and challenge the status quo with candor to maximize investment ROI and improve processes
  • Situational agility to influence without formal authority by cultivating transparent, trusting relationships with customer teams
  • Commercial Finance Acumen and analytical agility to assess and provide perspective on trade spend management as well as adapt Plan in-year with incomplete data or conflicting information
  • Data Based Decision Making and ability to synthesize multiple data sources and navigate complexity
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office tools

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Commercial Finance experience within Trade, Sales, or a Business Operating Unit
  • Knowledge of Trade/Merchandising planning & spending mechanics

SALARY RANGE

The salary range for this position is:

$82,400 - $123,800 Annual
