Israeli AI Drone Startup High Lander Raises $1.5 Million Seed Round

High Lander, the Israeli-Canadian tech startup that has built a complete solution enabling endless flights for commercial drones, announced that it has raised a $1.5 million seed round investment from Canadian investor Alberta-Texas Energy Ventures Inc. to introduce the DAC (Drone Airspace Controlling) system.

High Lander was established in 2017, with headquarters in Kfar-Saba, Israel by Ido Yahalomi (BD) and Alon Abelson (CEO) which bring Ronen Racz and Adam Kraif to join them and to lead the company's technological field. High Lander developed the DAC system to solve the challenges related to the  short life span of drone batteries.

The financing will be used to expand international activities and introducing new fields of drone activities, including public security, agriculture, construction and more.

The main challenge for deliveries by drones is the battery capacity:  a commercial drone with payload, can reach maximum of only 7.5 miles. With the High Lander solution, the drone will be able to land, charge itself and go to the next airport or destination autonomously.

“We have the knowledge to bring air traffic management from military and civilian air traffic control, to a full autonomous AI system, without human touch. With this investment, we now have the opportunity to accelerate product development and innovation”, said Alon Abelson.

“If we look at the current market, all drone operators, including major players as well as single users, need a pilot to replace the battery while other drone activities can be managed remotely. At High Lander, we are adding technology that removes the pilot from the battery replacement process by providing an air traffic control system that enables multiple drones landing at different airports, thus creating autonomous drones”, adds Ido Yahalomi, Founder and VP Business Development.
