Ami Gan, the former CEO who presided over a period of explosive growth at OnlyFans, is getting back in the game. Her new company, Vylit, just announced a $2.7 million seed round to fund the December 2025 launch of its own 18+ social media and creator platform. The move positions Gan as a direct competitor to her former employer, betting that there’s still a massive untapped market of potential creators.
The funding, led by Windmill Chain, backs a platform that aims to solve the creator economy’s cold-start problem. Vylit’s pitch, co-founded with brand strategist Kailey Magder, is that you shouldn’t need a huge pre-existing audience to start earning. It’s a direct shot at the influencer-first model that dominates platforms like Instagram and even OnlyFans, where discovery is a major hurdle for newcomers.
AI-Powered Allure
Vylit’s core differentiator is its tech stack. The company claims its proprietary AI discovery technology will help surface new creators, leveling the playing field. It’s also leaning heavily into other AI tools, offering image generation and chat features to give creators more flexibility and control, including the option to remain anonymous. This could be a game-changer for individuals hesitant to enter the space due to privacy concerns.
