Almedia

Almedia is a Germany-based company that operates the rewards app Freecash. Freecash has been accused of deceptive marketing practices, including misleading users into believing they can earn money by scrolling TikTok, when in reality the app primarily pays users to play mobile games. Cybersecurity firm Malwarebytes has reported that Freecash may collect sensitive user data, including race, religion, sex life, sexual orientation, health, and biometrics, positioning the company as a data broker connecting game developers with users. The company has denied these allegations, stating its apps are compliant with app store policies. Freecash has been removed from the Apple App Store and is under review by Google Play due to violations of policies against misleading marketing and deceptive practices.
