Before his retirement, my father was a small business owner for about thirty years. He was dedicated to his craft with a relentless drive and work ethic. Most mornings he was up at 4am managing the books before he set out for his day. Having worked in venture for a handful of years now, I see that same passion and persistance in many of the founders we meet. Those characteristics are necessary to successfully build any business.
