Glilot Leads $26M Series A in LayerX Security for its Browser Security Platform

Israeli AI web browser security startup, LayerX, raised $26 million in a Series A funding round led by Glilot Capital Partners (Glilot+), with participation from Dell Technologies Capital and other investors. The funding will drive LayerX’s growth in talent acquisition and expand its global market presence, raising the company's total investment to $34 million.

LayerX’s innovative platform safeguards browser-based work for today’s employees, offering protection against data leaks, identity theft, phishing, and other browser-related threats. Unlike traditional secure browsers, the LayerX Browser Extension integrates effortlessly with existing browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, and Edge, enabling enterprises to enhance security without compromising user experience.

LayerX's AI-powered browser security extension gives IT teams the tools to monitor user activities and address threats in real-time, all without affecting user productivity. The solution shields against threats, whether intentional or accidental, and uses AI to analyze browser activity for insights into user behavior and potential threats.

The funding round comes amid hot activity in the Israeli cyber security sector, namely web browser security. Talon Cyber Security was acquired for $458 million by Palo Alto Networks late last year, and Israeli-American startup, Island, announced the closing of their Series D funding round, $175 million at a $3 billion valuation.

The startup was founded in 2022 by Or Eshed (CEO) and David Vaisbrud (CTO). Their last round, Seed, closed in late 2022 at $7.5 million, led again by Glilot Capital Partners, with a number of participating investors, including INT3, MasterCard, Enel X, Guidestar, Kmehin Ventures, Ron Zoran, Guy Nizan, and Gal Ben David.

Glilot+ Managing Partner, Lior Litwak, Dell Technologies Capital Managing Partner, Yair Snir, will join the LayerX board.
