Cohere, an Enterprise AI model-maker, recently secured an additional $100 million in funding.
This extension round, led by Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) and Nexxus Capital Management, elevates the company's valuation to $7 billion.
This raise follows an oversubscribed $500 million round in August, which valued Cohere at $6.8 billion.
The company also announced a strategic partnership with AMD. Cohere's full suite of Command-family AI models, including vision, translate, and reasoning capabilities, now runs on AMD's Instinct GPU technology. Moreover, AMD will integrate Cohere's technology internally as a customer.
This collaboration expands Cohere's hardware support. While competitor OpenAI has strong ties with Nvidia, Cohere maintains support for Nvidia GPUs alongside its new AMD integration.
