Amazon is intensifying its global commitment to water conservation, announcing a series of new projects aimed at replenishing and protecting vital water resources. These Amazon water conservation projects underscore a growing focus on corporate environmental responsibility.
In Northwest Indiana, a third water replenishment project will restore 425 acres of habitat along Bogus Run, a tributary of the Kankakee River. This initiative, funded by Amazon and executed by the Shirley Heinze Land Trust, is projected to improve regional water retention by over 110 million gallons annually. The restoration efforts include managing invasive vegetation and re-establishing native sand prairie and woodland habitats, crucial for slowing runoff and enhancing groundwater infiltration.
