The rapid global embrace of artificial intelligence, from generative AI to copilots and foundation models, has created an urgent new frontier in cybersecurity: securing the vast, sensitive data that fuels these powerful systems. Amidst this critical industry tension, Cyera, an AI-native data security leader, has announced a monumental $540 million Series E funding round. This latest capital injection propels the company to an impressive $6 billion valuation in under four years, cementing its position as the fastest-growing data security firm in history.
Cyera's platform directly addresses the industry's bottleneck: the challenge of securely adopting AI at enterprise scale. Its AI-native solution empowers organizations to discover, classify, and protect sensitive data across diverse environments, including cloud, SaaS, databases, AI ecosystems, and on-premise. Recent innovations like Cyera’s Omni DLP extend this capability, providing adaptive, AI-native data loss protection with real-time intelligence and contextual understanding of data movement. This technical depth is crucial as enterprises grapple with data sprawl and the inherent risks of AI.
The Series E round saw significant participation from lead investors Georgian, Lightspeed Venture Partners, and Greenoaks, alongside existing top-tier investors such as Accel, Coatue, Cyberstarts, and Sequoia. Steve Leightell, Lead Investor at Georgian, emphasized, "We believe that Cyera is leading in the category, and we are excited to invest further to support this next stage of growth." Guru Chahal, Partner at Lightspeed Venture Partners, noted, "What stood out wasn’t just the technology; it was that customers saw Cyera as the only platform capable of securing data at the speed and scale that AI now demands."
This substantial funding, bringing Cyera's total capital raised to over $1.3 billion, will be strategically deployed to fuel hyper-growth. Plans include expanding product offerings on the data security platform, pursuing strategic acquisitions, hiring key talent globally, and building out capabilities across new and existing strategic markets. The company has already demonstrated remarkable momentum, doubling its customer base in the last six months, tripling its Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR), and doubling both its employee count and platform capabilities.
Based on a broad 40x industry revenue multiple, we may imply Cyera generates nearly $160 million in annual recurring revenue.
Cyera's strategic positioning within the $24 billion data security market is further bolstered by recent high-profile executive appointments, including Sol Rashidi from AWS, Dave Rogers from Palo Alto Networks, Amit Raikar from Zscaler, and Frank Slootman joining the Board of Directors. This Series E funding round will enable Cyera to continue its mission of helping businesses discover, secure, and leverage their most valuable asset—data—eliminating blind spots and protecting sensitive information as the AI revolution accelerates.
