Venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) has launched a new initiative aimed at combating the inherent isolation faced by Chief Financial Officers. Dubbed the a16z CFO Community, the program seeks to provide a confidential space for finance leaders to pressure-test critical decisions away from board scrutiny.

The concept emerged from direct feedback during a16z's own events, where finance executives expressed a need for a trusted peer network, akin to CEO groups like YPO, but tailored for their specific challenges. The loneliness of the CFO role, sitting at the intersection of executive leadership and financial data, often leaves them without internal peers for candid counsel on complex issues like financing, team building, or unexpected business shifts.
A Curated, Select Approach
The a16z CFO Community is structured around small, stage-matched cohorts of approximately eight finance leaders. These groups will convene in person every other month over a year for a total of six sessions.
