World, Sam Altman's biometric startup, has secured $52.5 million through a crypto token sale to strategic investors, including Pantera Capital, Eightco Holdings, Bain Capital Crypto, Susquehanna Crypto, and Selini Capital. This funding, which involves a 12-month lockup period for the WLD tokens, will be directed to the World Foundation to support the expansion of its network. The funds are intended to further develop World's "proof of human" tools and its World ID, an anonymous digital marker for online verification.
