Sila, a battery materials startup, has secured $300 million in a follow-on funding round to expand its Washington State factory. This capital will enable Sila to produce enough silicon-carbon anode material for over 100,000 electric vehicles, supporting its existing deals with Mercedes, Panasonic, Whoop, and drone manufacturers. The company's anode material offers up to 40% more energy storage and faster charging compared to traditional graphite.
