Porto-based CleanTech spin-off Seamoretech has secured €1.1 million ($1.2 million) in the first closing of its Seed round, backed by Rypples, 7Seas Capital, and Crédito Agrícola, bringing its total capital raised to €3 million. Spun off from the University of Porto, the startup’s brine-valorization technology doubles freshwater yield, cuts energy consumption by 50%, reduces operating costs by 30%, and lowers carbon emissions by up to 80% compared to traditional methods. Seamoretech will deploy the funds toward technology industrialization and commercial expansion, which includes launching in Spain next year and building a pipeline of pilot projects across Spain and Egypt ahead of a planned second Seed closing.
