Italian AI startup Rulen (formerly LexSA) raised €1.8M (~$1.9M) in its first funding round, a Seed led by VC Partners with participation from Growth Engine, AME Ventures, Zest via its Magic Mind vehicle, Alpha Venture and industry business angels. Launched at the end of 2025, the company disclosed no specific revenue, client count or headcount, but said its AI operating platform for tax and accounting workflows — which integrates with existing software and Italy's Cassetto Fiscale to automate data collection to document production — is already used by law and tax firms, specialist practices, consolidator groups and multinationals, targeting a market where new professional registrations have fallen 27.3% and under-40s make up just 15% of professionals. The funding, coinciding with its rebrand from an AI research assistant to an agentic platform, will accelerate product development toward end-to-end workflow automation and support commercial expansion, including hiring in sales, marketing, product and tax specialist roles.
