Swedish biotech startup MucoLife Therapeutics has secured a €91,000 (SEK 1 million) non-dilutive grant from Sweden’s innovation agency, Vinnova, under its life science infrastructure program. The capital will support development of MLT-001, a first-in-class inhaled peptide targeting airway mucus plugging, a condition present in over 50% of moderate-to-severe COPD patients that currently has no approved targeted therapy. MucoLife will use the funds to collaborate with a CDMO to establish a scalable purification process and control strategy for future Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) manufacturing ahead of clinical trials.
