Metafuels, a Swiss aviation technology firm, has secured €1.92 million in grant funding from the Netherlands Enterprise Agency for its synthetic sustainable aviation fuel (e-SAF) project in the Port of Rotterdam. This funding will support the development of their proprietary methanol-to-jet technology, aerobrew, aiming for commercial production by 2030. The project, named Turbe, represents a significant step towards scalable e-SAF production in Europe.
