Leipzig-based HealthTech startup JawBuddy has closed an €818,000 ($0.9 million) pre-seed funding round led by healthcare platform HALBZEIT, with participation from Mittelständische Beteiligungsgesellschaft Sachsen (MBG) and several dental and surgical specialists. The company, which developed an EU MDR Class I-registered app for at-home jaw pain and bruxism therapy, currently operates clinical pilot projects across five sites, including University Hospital RWTH Aachen. JawBuddy will use the initial funding to launch a 130-patient multicentre randomized controlled trial in December as it works toward securing a statutory health insurance care contract targeted for early 2027.
