Ganiga has raised €1.5M (~$1.6M) in equity led by Italian contract catering company Vivenda with participation from London-based NextSTEP and three angel investors, bringing its total funding to €2.5M including €1M previously secured via Invitalia's Smart&Start Italia programme.
The Pisa-founded deeptech, led by Nicolas Zeoli, has sold 300+ AI, computer vision and robotics waste-sorting devices deployed in airports, shopping centres and large businesses across Italy, Japan, Australia and other European countries, and its HooolyFood system — developed in under a year — is already deployed in operations serving 30,000+ meals daily.
The company will use the funds to expand its technical and commercial teams, further develop HooolyFood and its proprietary data platform to increase recurring revenue, initially scaling within contract catering alongside Vivenda before expanding to event catering, hotels and other foodservice segments.
