Artificial Intelligence Underwriting Company (AIUC) raised $40 million — described as a Series A — on Sept. 15, 2026 to begin auditing frontier AI models, expanding beyond its existing business certifying enterprise agents built on those models.
Its AIUC-1 standard runs each agent through about 5,000 tailored risk and attack combinations including jailbreaks, hallucinations and data leaks, with testing done by AI agents and human-verified audits recertified quarterly, shaped by a consortium of 250+ security and risk leaders and already used by ElevenLabs — which in February used certification to secure AI agent insurance — plus Anysphere (Cursor), Harvey, KPMG, Lovable, UiPath and Fin; no revenue, pipeline or employee count was disclosed.
Proceeds will fund the launch of frontier-model audits to address what co-founder and CEO Rune Kvist said is the main adoption bottleneck — agents approved in pilots but "stalled at the security review" — while investors were not named in the article excerpt.
